The band is an established military-style band formed to represent Surrey Police by Surrey Police officers (although all are welcome). Playing in both a static concert setting and in a marching military setting, the band aims to represent the force, entertain, and further the musical ability of its members.
About the members
The band is open to any one interested in being involved. If you play a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument we'd be delighted to hear from you. Members range from their teens to 71 in age, and work in all areas of life. We want to enjoy playing together and so the atmosphere is generally very relaxed.
About the music
As a military band, the band is made up of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. We play music in arrangements that suit this combination of instruments, which varies from traditional military marches to more modern pieces such as film themes. We always welcome suggestions from members as to what music they'd like to play too.
About the events
The band will consider performing at any event; school fundraisers, graduation ceremonies, carol services - if you think the band is right for your event, contact us and we'll be pleased to talk to you. As a charitable organisation, the band does not charge for performing. However, the band and its members have costs that can be considerable; any donation you can make to the band's funds will be gratefully received and help ensure the band's continues survival.
