A very warm welcome from Kestrels Children's Centre, thank you for showing an interest in our facilities. The Kestrels team are fully commited to working in partnership with parents and their children. In this way we strive to ensure that all families receive seamless integrated services, information and access to help from multidisciplinery teams of professionals in order that our children get the best start in life.
Kestrels began life in June 2003 when we we offering wrap around care & a playgroup facility to the children of Marden Lodge School. Since then we have "grown up" to the point that we are now open from 7.30am - 6.00pm on a weekday basis, 50 weeks per year. We believe that we offer the most affordable childcare in the area.
Following our last Ofsted inspection, our inspector told us "This is just like a big house full of happy children", this comment alone mean more to us that the whole report because that is exactly the kind of atmosphere we wanted to create for the children who attend Kestrels. We believe our partnership with families is three way, and consequently we have a very thorough key worker system in place which enables us to build positive relationships with all our families.
We became a Sure Start designated Children's Centre in April 2008, and since then we have continued to build upon our relationships with our local community.
Kestrels is more than a day care centre, it's a place where we can look after all the needs of your family, if you need advice from health visitors, help with speech & language therapists, advice on adult training or how to obtain employment - there is a facility available to help you.
We are currently in the process of having an extension built which will enable us to offer even more services. In our community room you will be able to attend stay & play sessions, borrow resources from our toy library, meet with your health visiting team, learn baby massage and pick up tips on breast feeding & family health.
Oh and don't forget, we ALREADY have a successful "Dadds, Lads & Daughter's Club" that runs one Saturday in every month, here our families are given the opporunity of spending some quality time together in a fun environment AND enjoy a light lunch - all for the very affordable price of £5.00 per family.
